I ordered their special offer books but then they were taking forever to come so I cancelled my account and then they showed up a few days later. Now I dont know what to do. Do I send the books back or do I keep them and pay the $16 for 6 books and agree to buy the other 4 books in 2 years? I guess Im asking if anyone knows if this club is worth getting involved in, if the other 4 books you have to buy are really expensive with shipping or if they are good deals as well.
Thank you. Very Confused.
Thanks. I chose the pay later option so I havent paid for the books yet. I cancelled my account so I am thinking on just sending them back since they are not opened I shouldnt have to pay to return to sender right? Hopefully they will just take them back, maybe somehow let them know I also cancelled my account so I dont want the books. Well thanks for your guys’ help.
The advice you’ve gotten about your account is correct. I just popped in to say that the quality of the books usually isn’t very good: the bindings, cheap paper, even the ink is inferior. Also, the books themselves are usually smaller in size. They have to cut corners somewhere. Later, you don’t save all that much on the books so, personally, I’d rather buy quality used books than book club editions any day.

Horaayy..there are 4 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Kari,
What you have to do is find out if you actually paid for the books. If not, then you have to send them back or they will bill you or send you to a credit bureau/collection agency.
If you paid for the books already, just tell them you’ll keep the books but you no longer want to be in the book club and you already cancelled. If you didn’t pay, send them back advising them you cancelled and are returning the books.

Been there / Done that
It does indeed take forever or so it seems to get the books. Moneywise, it is a so so fair deal . The pricing would average out. But after you have paid for the other four books, I keep the flyer that comes monthly to see what the latest books are and then buy the books direct from Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You get a much better price and you can buy used books that are just as good as new.

it happens lot of time with doublebook club. i have read also somewhere that many customers got the notices for the bills that they have never ordered. although, if you ask me overall it is a good club. I guess something has messed up there.
But still if the other 4 books that are need to buy are expensive than what you can get at some other place, then definitely cancel the deal. You can compare all book prices at http://gauchotexts.com
