how to stop non members from reading posts on our group page?

my friend runs a group page on facebook , but wants to block non members from reading posts , seeing pictures or sharing material from her groups page . how can she do that as her group is open ,

I’m afraid I only know how to do it on yahoo groups not facebook. You should try asking facebook.

I saw the children in their guided reading groups

If I was observing classes during guided reading groups, I’d pay attention to what the teacher does during this time, and how the students are expected to behave, what they’re expected to be doing, etc. Does the teacher sit behind his or her desk, or walk around the room? How are the kids in the groups- sitting on the floor, in their seats, facing each other, etc? There are so many little details you can pick up on in ANY activity the kids are doing!

I never gave thought while doing my field experience to things like remembering to take the little ones to the bathroom for potty/drink breaks. It never once dawned on me that they’d need that, until I saw it in action. Also, I never thought about the fact that as an elem. teacher, I would be able to- and NEED to- go into the boys’ bathroom to break up their little 1st grade arguments, make them stop splashing all over, tell them to stop playing around, remind them to wash their hands, etc. Our first grade teacher has to go in and stop kids from making watery, soapy messes all over the boys’ bathroom all the time.

Consider ANY time you have to observe classes to be quite a learning experience!

Are there any plans to make a mobile version of Yahoo Groups? If so, is there an estimated target date? Everything else seems to be mobile friendly EXCEPT Groups!

Why does Yahoo Groups keep crashing when I try to read this group’s message archives?

I just joined a Yahoo Group today, and in the welcome email the moderator recommends that new group members read some of the message archives before posting. This group’s had a lot of posts (about 23,000) and they make interesting reading, but both times I’ve tried to read through more than 400 of them the page I’m on crashes and I’m not able to access Yahoo Groups at all for a couple of hours. Why is this happening?

My remaining little group has almost twice that many posts and I’m a ‘webby’ (no e-mail) and I’m not getting that problem. My guess is that it’s just a server glitch and will cease to be a problem soon. Try going in at times when the traffic isn’t too heavy – sometimes that makes a difference. ==

if the < Prev | Next > isn’t click-able, it means there isn’t anything next to click on. either there aren’t any newer posts or they’ve been deleted

Is group reading and discussion helpful in facing exams?

Two of my very close friends join with me, and we read, discuss , exchange notes to prepare for examination. When we read together, we feel very confident in facing the exam but sometime
we talk about other matters not related to study also and waste time.
Kindly advice.

You’ve got keep your group on target. The occasional break is necessary when you’re studying, especially if it’s a 4 hours study session, but if you find that you’re studying for 30 minutes, then jabbering for 15, studying for 30 minutes and gabbing for another 15, then it’s time to have a talk with your friends and emphasive the need to cover in material and go over your study plan – it’s a heck of a lot better to study and cram for 2-3 hours straight, then go blow off steam for 30 to 45 minutes, come back to your study "place" and continue, then to rock back and forth. The group will remain more focused and you’ll learn a heck of a lot more that way. Sounds like it’s time to talk.

I should mention that the above poster is correct; group study can be better but that’s if the group is actually studying. There are groups that just fart around and you are correct, you will get more done on your own in some cases (but try to get them focused).

Ask your moderator. There are alot of group settings that vary between groups. Try to POST in the group on the Home page menu. Your Yahoo ID or posting ID of another email address is needed.

I remember from year 1-8, i was ALWAYS put into low groups for reading/comprehension and sometimes would get extra help. why? i may sound biased but i was an EXCELLENT reader at such a young age and still am. i never found problems with reading or learning/understanding words. so why was i put in such basic groups?

maybe it’s the difference between the work you do at home and at school you may read well but it’s a matter with a pen a pencil that may be the problem rwadings fun and interesting but when it comes to actual work thats when it gets harder and messes you up or you can just ask the teachers
