for on-level, the marvin redpost series is great! my kids got tired of the junie b. jones books. for your higher group, any of the ramona books would be great.

Check with your state curriculum. The State mandates what books you are to use.

I'd try some of Roald Dahl's shorter books, like Fantastic Mr Fox or Esio Trot.

The first book in the Boxcar Children series, or since it's the end of the school year, Sarah Plain and Tall or Laura Ingalls Wilder books.
