I have recently cultivated a love of poetry and was wondering if there were any poetry reading groups in Manchester?

Try looking at the Poetry Kit – www.poetrykit.org and the Poetry Society’s web site – www.poetrysociety.org.uk . They should have details of local groups. Your local library should know of local groups – they might not be so good with space – I organise a poetry froup in south London, we had a regular space in the library until they turned it over to a computer area, & we had to go elsewhere!

Horaayy..there are 4 comment(s) for me so far ;)

You must be joking! People don’t have poetry reading groups these days especially in Manchester where people spend their time rioting at a football match or go to the pubs and getting pissed!!

Ask at the local library. They have the relevant information. Also try the bookshops. As iam11 said, you could start your own, the library could lend you a corner.
