I’m not quite sure what you’re asking… how to start this story you’ve said nothing about or how to approach this group you’ve said nothing abou.
Every good children’s book I can think of has a great, memorable main character. Start there and build a story around an interesting, engaging character (be they ant or flower or little boy).

Well, for one thing, this is not a writing club.
Anyway…Just start writing. If it needs artwork, find someone you know who can do it. However, you do not really HAVE to have artwork. You can approach publishers with an idea or text without artwork/pictures and they can find someone to fill that void for you. Ideas, especially from new writers are probably best pitched to publishers from agents, so you might want to look into finding one first.
