All of my web searches led to individual, local groups of readers who actually meet *gasp!* physically; and these groups are invariably out of my region.
If you don’t know of a high quality classics reading group, would you like to start one with me?
I’m a Classics major and would be interested in something like that, but my cursory search has failed to show up anything either. E-mail me at jaf at reed dot edu if you find something or are maybe interested in starting up something.

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Hello,
I am a student of James Joyce’s work, especially Ulysses, which relates to Homer, of course. I am not familiar with Greco-Roman literature but it is no doubt an interesting area.
There is a list on Yahoo for Ulysses. It is inhabited by great scholars like Bob Williams, many amateur scholars with vast experience reading Joyce, and newcomers. The list is starting a fresh read-through in January I think, or soon anyway. Any question whether from newcomer or scholar is answered with a barrage of opinions and resources. It is often lively, often tedious.
What books in particular are you thinking of including in such a list?
You might be interested in my website below.
Thanks,
Kriko
