My review of Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort:
This video was created with photos I shot at Riverside in September 2009 (and the music is from the 1959 classic film The Five Pennies, starring Danny Kaye, Louis Armstrong, Susan Gordon and Tuesday Weld, among others). I can’t say enough good things about the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. The lobby, restaurants, many pools, and incredible landscaping are first rate. There’s a boat launch which will transport you directly to Downtown Disney, and bus service to the theme parks. There are 6 swimming pools at this resort – a central pool with a water-slide and 5 smaller pools located near the various sections of the resort. The water-slide at the central pool is short but fast – it’s a lot of fun for visitors of all ages. We were fortunate to be able to dine at the Riverside Mill at 1:30, after the lunch crowd had thinned out. The food was excellent at this counter-service restaurant, and they served up great chocolate shakes (made with real ice cream) for dessert.

Port Orleans Riverside is a Disney Moderate resort, which means you’re getting a themed resort on Disney property for less than you’d pay to stay at many ordinary chain hotels and motels across America. However, you will likely be paying a bit more than you’d pay at some of the off-Disney-property hotels in the Orlando and Kissimmee area. We stayed at Riverside when they were offering a 35% discount (we paid $96 per night). Port Orleans Riverside is the only Disney resort at the Value and Moderate levels which will accomodate a family of five in a single guest room (and this is limited to the Alligator Bayou section of Riverside & only accomodates the family if the youngest can still fit in a small trundle bed).

this is my fav …
this is my fav resort at WDS. We have stayed at a few others including the delux resorts but this has it all. Love the fact it has so many swimming pools that it never seems to be over crowded. Great food court and the bedrooms serve their purpose, you sleep in them then get out and enjoy the parks etc the rest of the time..brilliant place.

I’m staying there next month! I am so excited! By the way, Louis Armstrong was a FANTSTIC choice for the music.
